“Abraham," he said. "I'm pleased to see you alive, old friend."
"And I to see you dead.”
I can't say exactly why I decided to pick this book up and read it, but how can you pass up one of the greatest presidents and the undead? And I found this novel to be completely entertaining to boot.
There isn't much to explain because the title pretty much sums it up. As I child, Abe discovered that vampires exist and after a particularly traumatizing incident, he vows to rid America of their pestilence. Several years later he comes under the guidance of Henry, who leads Abe to vampires in need of justice. Eventually, Abe sees the connection between slavery and the vampire problem and begins a political career to put an end to both.
I thought this was a really well written story, giving me my paranormal and historical fiction fix. If you are look for something fun, this is it.
